What does a Career Coach do?
All of the Career Coaches I know work in a slightly different way, so it’s worth asking how they work to be sure you find the right person for you.
I offer a few different services which are detailed below. Everything is bespoke to you, we start the sessions talking about what it is you are hoping to do – and that could be a clear goal or it could be you have no idea what you want to do, and that’s what the sessions are for.
For my career coaching programme, I have loads of exercises which I will use based on our conversations. Before each session, you’ll receive a selection of exercises to work on and we talk them through at the session.
I ask for a little bit of information on the booking form so I have an idea of what you want to talk about. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
Career Chat
Fee - £225
These are 1 hour sessions. We talk about whatever career related dilemma you have.
It is totally your agenda. Previous clients have used the sessions for a variety of topics including:
- Deciding between 2 job offers
- Support to write a cover letter
- Possible alternate career options
- Informal interview prep
- Networking best practice
Career Coaching Programme
Fee - £950
We will typically have four meetings of 90 minutes each, over a time period we agree is most appropriate for you and your circumstances.
Before the first meeting, I will give you two or three exercises to work through. You should bring these completed to our first session for us to talk through. This is very much an exploratory process, identifying areas you’ve enjoyed in the past, identifying themes, values, motivators and to talk about your initial ideas for moving forward. We will also agree on what you want to achieve by the end of the programme.
These sessions are reflective and give you the time and space to really think (and talk) about what you could do next.
Parent Consultation Service
Fee - £99
Are you worried about your child’s next steps?
I can help.
I’ve been hearing from a growing number of parents, concerned about their child’s future as they approach the end of education.
As students step out of the classroom for the last time, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the choices and uncertainty about the future.
To help parents like you, who want to assist and support their children as much as possible, I offer a Parent Consultation Service, tailored to provide clarity and practical advice.
How It Works
This session is an online video call, up to 30 minutes long, designed to help you understand the best ways to support your child’s career journey and help them navigate the decision-making process.
During the booking process for our session, you’ll share a bit about your child’s situation, the directions and career options they are considering and the challenges ahead. We will expand on this during the session.
I’ll listen carefully to what you’ve told me, and offer tailored advice, practical suggestions, and actionable next steps to help you, help them move forward with confidence. Key words here are ‘actionable’ and ‘practical.’ The aim is to kick-start the career process, focus on what matters and do it as easily as possible.
Why Choose This Service?
It’s worrying when your child doesn’t have a clear career path after finishing their studies, is waiting around for some magical, perfect time to get started, or is applying for hundreds of jobs and getting nowhere. Every situation is unique, but with over 21 years of career coaching experience, I’ll provide expert guidance that you can trust.
As a parent of both a 23 and a 19 year old, I am very aware of the difficult choices at key education stages and the challenges of getting a first job or onto the career ladder. No matter how old they are, you as a parent want to do all you can to support them.
Exclusive follow-up offer for students
If your student decides to book a 1:1 session with me after you’ve had your session, they will benefit from a reduced rate of £99 per session (currently these sessions are £150 each). I currently offer 2 student-focused services:
1. Student Career Hour: A one hour session tailored to your child’s needs, whether it’s CV advice, exploring career options, or breaking into a specific industry.
2. LinkedIn Secrets for Smart Students: A focused session to help build a standout profile and use LinkedIn effectively to find opportunities. Yes, this may have been covered at college, but I guarantee I will give more specific guidance.
